International Women's Day

Opportunities for development are open to everyone – you just have to seize them and believe in your own potential. I have never questioned whether I am in the right place. It is important to encourage people to embrace their uniqueness and believe in their dreams – even if they seem unusual at first.

When I joined Equans Switzerland in 2021, I was the only woman in the Studies and Calculation department in Prilly, apart from one colleague in Geneva. Today, we see significantly more women in technical and management roles. This shows how our teams are evolving. Women's Day reminds me of how far we have come and the potential that still lies ahead. I am proud to contribute to this progress.

I work with many impressive women – many of them work behind the scenes. It is precisely there that an enormous amount of work is done: reliably, professionally and with a great sense of responsibility. What is often lacking, however, is appropriate recognition – financially, in terms of prestige and in formal roles. We should be more aware of this and change it.

On International Women's Day, we celebrate the courage and unwavering determination of women around the world. We honour their history, their commitment and everything that defines them today and in the future.

Diversity strengthens teams – every day shows how valuable different perspectives are.

Women have strong leadership qualities. In our society, where male role models still predominate, they stand out for their determination, composure and sense of responsibility. In order to assert their value, women often strive for important positions despite having fewer opportunities.
