Equans Switzerland Awarded EPC Contract for Landmark Invinity Vanadium Flow Bat-tery Project in Laufenburg, Switzerland

Equans Switzerland AG is pleased to announce that it has been awarded an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract by Invinity Energy Systems plc for the preparation of delivery of the vanadium flow battery installation at the Technologie Zentrum Laufenburg (TZL) in Switzerland.

The project forms part of the groundbreaking FlexBase Technology Campus development in Laufenburg and is expected to become one of the world's largest vanadium flow battery energy storage systems. The facility will play a key role in supporting renewable energy integration, enhancing grid stability and enabling sustainable power infrastructure for next-generation digital and industrial applications.

Under the EPC contract, Equans Switzerland will be responsible for providing mechanical, electrical and piping (MEP) as well as other technical services to the battery storage facility, in accordance with Invinity's design and performance requirements.

The project represents a significant milestone for both companies and demonstrates the growing role of flexible battery technologies in addressing the challenges of renewable energy integration and increasing electricity demand.

Engineering and detailed design activities are already well underway, with both companies working collaboratively alongside FlexBase and other project stakeholders to advance the project toward full delivery. The pace of progress at the Laufenburg site has been exceptional. In a relatively short period, key construction milestones have already been completed on schedule.
