As a ventilation system engineer, you’re the driving force behind optimally ventilated spaces – in hospitals, offices, shops and even tunnels. Using your technical expertise, you install and maintain complex ventilation and air conditioning systems that meet the highest standards in terms of comfort and energy efficiency. Your responsibilities are varied. You plan the installation, assemble components precisely and make sure everything runs smoothly.

Your activities

Be it planning, production or installation – your work as a ventilation system engineer is varied and technically challenging. You work with state-of-the-art technology, shape components and assemble entire systems to ensure optimal air quality.

As a ventilation system engineer with Federal VET Diploma, you work both in the workshop and on the construction site. You plan the installation, manufacture components and ensure that ventilation and air conditioning systems work reliably. With your manual skills and technical understanding, you create the basis for a pleasant indoor climate in a wide range of buildings.

Creating and analysing plans

You read and create installation sketches, plan the position of ventilation components and mark the installation points.

Production of components

In the workshop, you produce ventilation components such as ducts, grilles and fittings, processing materials such as sheet metal and aluminium to ensure the perfect fit.

On-site assembly and installation

On construction sites, you assemble and install ventilation pipe systems and connect control, monitoring and alarm equipment.

Commissioning and fine-tuning

You commission the systems, check the settings and optimise air circulation to ensure a perfect indoor climate.

Maintenance and adjustment

You review existing systems, perform troubleshooting and make adjustments to meet new requirements or standards.

Safety and quality controls

You ensure that the systems comply with the applicable standards and diligently document your work.
